The museum garden, with its circular path and central lawn, does not impose any particular direction or offer any exit. The objective of this project is to enhance this feeling by placing a cylindrical pavilion at the centre of the lawn. In the same vein, no entrance or wall is perceptible, and no physical barrier is present. The volume is created by a succession of light pieces of fabric which enable a smooth passage through the materiality of the place. Materiality is from a first viewpoint perceived as transparent through the various layers of fabric, and as the viewer rotates, it then appears as an undulating surface. The spectator moves in that transitional space, losing sense of the reality and connecting with the total abstraction of the vacuum so created at the inside, thereby suggesting a dream as an intimate moment locked in the virtual space of our sleep.
Le museum garden avec son allée circulaire et sa zone gazonnée centrale ne donne aucune direction ou point de fuite particulier. La volonté du projet est d’amplifier cette sensation en mettant en place un pavillon cylindrique et flottant au milieu de la pelouse. Dans le même objectif, aucune entrée ou pan de mur n’est perceptible, il n’y a aucune frontière physique. Le volume est créé par une succession de légers tissus créant un passage doux à travers la matérialité. Le projet est perçu d’un premier angle de vue comme transparent entre les épaisseurs, c’est alors en tournant légèrement que celui-ci nous apparait comme une surface ondulante. Le spectateur se meut dans cet espace transitoire, perdant toute notion de la réalité jusqu’à l’abstraction totale du vide créé en son centre traduisant ainsi le rêve comme un moment intime, clos dans l’espace virtuel de notre sommeil.
